A Day of Silence and Shifts: My Office Chronicle

This morning started just like any other in the city—only a little more chaotic. The traffic was unusually heavy, a restless flow of vehicles inching their way forward, testing everyone's patience. By the time I reached the office, I was out of breath, but relieved to finally settle into my seat and begin the usual routine.

Just as I was easing into the workday, a notification flashed on my phone.

Soham Sir – Staff Mppl

The name alone was enough to pause everything. I immediately opened WhatsApp, expecting an update of some kind.

What I saw, however, was not a message—it was a shock.

A major announcement.
A mass layoff.

Almost the entire team of the revenue department had been let go.

For a moment, everything stood still.

Trying to refocus, I quickly printed a document I had been working on and rushed to Aruna Madam’s desk—she had forwarded me an email earlier, and I wanted to confirm if there was anything I needed to get started on.

There wasn’t.

Still hopeful, I approached Krishna Prasad Sir, offering my help in drafting or assisting with any tasks. But once again, there was nothing for me to take up.

And so here I am—just two hours left before the end of the workday, and I haven’t been assigned any specific tasks.

But I didn’t let the time go to waste.

I used the quiet moments to study legal language and dive deeper into the RERA Act, finding comfort in learning when everything else felt uncertain.

Some days don’t unfold the way we expect.
They bring silence, space, and sometimes even uncomfortable changes.

But I choose to see today as a pause, not a setback. A space to breathe, reflect, and prepare.

Hoping that tomorrow brings more clarity, more purpose, and a better day ahead.

Spill. Stir. Stay tuned As Not all drama belongs in court.
