Posting Zero Trend: A New Social Media Shift Led by Gen Z

Posting Zero: A Quiet Shift in How We Live Online

There was a phase when camera phones first became popular.
Everyone suddenly started recording everything — birthdays, coffees, sunsets, even their sadness disguised as happiness. Facebook became a stage where people looked cheerful even on their worst days.

Slowly, without realising it, we changed.
We began capturing moments instead of living them.
We memorised less because our phones stored everything.
We imagined less because filters shaped what “beautiful” looked like.
Life was happening, but we were busy documenting it.

Years later, social media became even louder.
Your feed wasn’t about friends anymore — it was ads, influencers, promotions, perfect vacations, perfect meals, perfect faces. Everything looked curated.

And then, silently, Gen Z reacted.

They didn’t quit the internet.
They didn’t uninstall anything.
They simply stopped posting.

They scroll, they watch content, they stay updated — but they don’t put their own lives out there. No photo dumps, no stories, no “big announcement” captions. Just a deliberate decision to stay present without broadcasting every detail.

For them, this isn’t rebellion.
It’s relief.

They’ve seen what oversharing did to people — the pressure, the comparison, the performative happiness. So they choose something simpler: privacy, quietness, and real experiences that don’t need to be uploaded.

“I’ll live my life, but I don’t have to prove it online.”

This is what Posting Zero looks like.
A generation saying, in their own way,
that living for the feed is no longer worth the cost to presence and memory.

Baramulla: Another Kashmiri Masterpiece by Aditya Suhas Jambhale

Baramulla Review

Weekends, when the whole family is away, turn into my tiny pockets of freedom. I usually spend them cleaning every nook and cranny of the house, trying new recipes I’ve been craving, and, of course, binging on Netflix (that is, if I find anything worth watching). This weekend was exactly that. After seeing my husband off to the airport at 3:30 a.m., I made myself some tea and began scrolling through Netflix in search of something watchable.

Being a true patriotic Indian, the moment I stumbled upon Baramulla, I hit play without a second thought. The beginning felt fine—nothing extraordinary—but expected, because every story needs its space to introduce itself. I knew Baramulla only because of the terrorist attack associated with that name, so I started the movie with a preconceived notion that it must be based on that incident.
But as the film progressed, something shifted.
A strange uneasiness crept in.
And I found myself wondering—why does this feel like a horror movie?

A Film That Refuses to Fit Into a Box

Baramulla starts like a crime investigation but slowly sinks into a moody, unsettling space where grief, memory and the supernatural seem to overlap. The pacing is deliberate, almost meditative—not slow, but thoughtful. And that is where Aditya Suhas Jambhale’s signature begins to show.
If you’ve watched his earlier films—Article 370 or Kharvas—you’ll immediately recognise the familiar darkness. The quiet tension. The way he uses silence like a character. There’s always something unspoken hanging in the air, something that refuses to reveal itself until the very end.
In fact, at many moments, the film gives off a vibe very similar to Bejoy Nambiar’s cinema( you must have watched Shaitan, Wazir etc) —stylish, atmospheric, and emotionally heavy. That Nordic-noir style—cold tones, minimalist dialogues, and a sense of dread—runs through the film like a thin thread.

The Story That Pulls You In

Set in the eerie calm of Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the film follows DSP Ridwan Syed, played brilliantly by Manav Kaul, who is investigating a series of missing children. But the haunting isn’t limited to his professional life—strange things begin happening inside his own home, especially around his daughter.
Suddenly, it’s not just a case.
It’s a nightmare that refuses to stay outside the door.
The shift from crime thriller to psychological drama and then to something almost supernatural is subtle yet powerful. You don’t realise when the ground beneath the narrative changes—you only feel the chill.

Here I want to mention that as the film began, I kept wondering why it was giving off the vibe of a horror movie. And then came that moment—when Manav Kaul grew increasingly agitated listening to Bhasha Sumbli’s supeernatural story. For a second, I felt certain that the director was about to reveal something that would finally confirm my suspicion: No, this isn’t a horror film. But… but… but—what unfolded next proved something far more impressive.
The screenplay, the direction, and even the editing were so skilfully crafted that the past and present merged seamlessly, almost poetically. Hats off to the filmmaker for pulling that off with such finesse.

Performances That Do the Heavy Lifting

Manav Kaul is a force. His fear, confusion, and exhaustion are painfully real.
Bhasha Sumbli adds emotional depth, grounding the supernatural with genuine human fear.
Rohaan Singh shines as Ayaan, the young son of Manav Kaul’s character, DSP Ridwaan Sayyed. His mischievous charm and natural screen presence make the role feel effortlessly real.
And last, young Arista Mehta, as Noorie, becomes the soft center of this hard, unsettling world.

Why Baramulla Lingers

This isn’t your typical weekend thriller.
There are no loud shocks, no gimmicky scares.
It’s the silence, the atmosphere, the grief—lingering in every frame—that gets you.
It’s not a movie you “watch.”
It’s a movie you feel, long after the screen goes black.
For someone like me, who started it half-sleepy at dawn, expecting a straightforward thriller about a terrorist attack, Baramulla was a surprise. A haunting, slow-burning, beautifully crafted surprise.
And if you appreciate cinema that blends emotion with darkness…
If you enjoy films that make you think rather than jolt you…
Then Baramulla is absolutely worth your weekend.

The story pauses here… until we turn the next page together.

The Youngest MLA : Maithili Thakur !

This week was a whirlwind — moments of pride, moments of pain, and moments that will not be forgotten. Even as the nation reeled from the Delhi bomb blast — shockingly carried out by white-collar, highly educated individuals — my pen today rises for a very different story.

On 14 November, as Bihar counted its votes, the NDA swept the opposition aside with a decisive victory. And the credit for this massive win goes especially to the women of Bihar — women who refused to remain stuck in the dim glow of a lantern in the 21st century and boldly embraced the path of development.

Amid this changing political wind, one name echoed the loudest — Maithili Thakur. A folk singer who rejected the glitter and temptation of Bollywood and instead dedicated herself to preserving and spreading India’s folk music across the nation.

I still remember — after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, she posted a video on YouTube announcing that she would never sing Bollywood songs ever. That firm decision spoke volumes about her identity, her values, and her cultural grounding.

On the other side stands Neha Singh Rathore, a self proclaimed “folk singer,” yet seems more entangled in criticizing ONLY NDA GOVERNMENT & chasing political tickets every election season — using songs like “Bihar me ka baa” to grab the limelight.

And when Maithili Thakur responded brilliantly to that song, social media had only one thing to say — “Singing folk songs is an art, but living folk culture is a far greater virtue.

” Maithili didn’t just sing folk music; she embodied it.

And in doing so, she became the true voice of a new Bihar."

From a very young age, Maithili Thakur embraced a life woven with traditions — draping a saree, singing in devotion to Krishna, and painting Madhubani art on the walls of her home. This wasn’t performance; this was identity.

Whether as a folk singer, a loving sister to her two brothers, or a daughter of Mithila — people showered affection on her in every form. And the biggest testament to that love?

Her massive win against the RJD candidate.

Speaking of victory brings us to another name — the Jan Suraaj Party. Did you see their performance?

Grand dreams, loud claims… but the result?

It is said that the Jan Suraaj Party contested 238 seats, won none, and secured only 2–3% of the total vote. Even JDU didn’t contested on these many seats! Irony is that Prashant Kishor blamed his failure on the NDA government’s “10 K Cash” scheme. A classic case of a frustrated cat scratching the pole.

The people of Bihar sent a clear message this time — Only the one who speaks to the heart & about development will win.
And Maithili Thakur did exactly that. With her simplicity, her values, and her cultural depth, she won the heart of Bihar.

🎉 Bravo, Maithili Thakur!

You didn't just win the election — you won our hearts too.

A tribute to the voice of Mithila

Deepti, Shafali Shine as India Claim Maiden World Cup Title

November 2nd was not only the birthday of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but also a date that will forever shine in India’s cricket history. It marked the proud and celebrated moment when Team India clinched their maiden ICC World Cup title, defeating a powerful Australian side with unmatched grit, skill, and unity.

The night the stars bowed to two names — Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma — India created history. The Women in Blue have done what generations of dreamers hoped to see: India lifts its maiden World Cup title.

As the final over ended and tears of triumph flowed, one truth shone brighter than the trophy — this wasn’t just a win; it was a revolution. From dusty backyard pitches to packed stadiums, Indian women announced their arrival on the grandest stage. Joy spilled across cities and villages, and pride became a collective anthem.

Deepti Sharma anchored the innings with calm brilliance — measured, decisive, and resolute. Her composure steadied the team when the pressure mounted. At the other end, Shafali Verma did what she does best: attack. Her fearless strokeplay lifted the momentum and electrified the crowd. Together they scripted a partnership that was more than runs — it was a statement.

India’s bowlers matched the batsmans’ heroics with grit and precision. Every dive, every catch, every tight over underlined the team’s intent. South Africa resisted fiercely, but destiny was wearing blue tonight. When the final wicket fell, the roar that followed felt like an entire nation exhaling in joy.

This triumph belongs not only to the eleven on the field but to every girl who picked up a bat with a dream. It belongs to coaches, parents, and grassroots organisers who nurtured talent. Today’s champions have done more than win a trophy — they’ve rewritten narratives and shown that women’s cricket is now writing its own history.

Deepti’s grace. Shafali’s power. India’s unity. Together, they gave the country a night to remember — a night that redefined what victory looks like. The Cup may be gold, but the legacy it sparks will shine for years to come.

🏆 Victory in Blue
Beneath the lights, their spirits gleam,
Deepti’s calm, Shafali’s dream.
From dust and doubt to glory’s hue,
They painted the world in shades of blue.
One win, one roar, a billion hearts unite —
India crowned, in eternal light. 🌟

Made this day history... Congratulations Team India! We Won!🎉
