The Youngest MLA : Maithili Thakur !

This week was a whirlwind — moments of pride, moments of pain, and moments that will not be forgotten. Even as the nation reeled from the Delhi bomb blast — shockingly carried out by white-collar, highly educated individuals — my pen today rises for a very different story.

On 14 November, as Bihar counted its votes, the NDA swept the opposition aside with a decisive victory. And the credit for this massive win goes especially to the women of Bihar — women who refused to remain stuck in the dim glow of a lantern in the 21st century and boldly embraced the path of development.

Amid this changing political wind, one name echoed the loudest — Maithili Thakur. A folk singer who rejected the glitter and temptation of Bollywood and instead dedicated herself to preserving and spreading India’s folk music across the nation.

I still remember — after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, she posted a video on YouTube announcing that she would never sing Bollywood songs ever. That firm decision spoke volumes about her identity, her values, and her cultural grounding.

On the other side stands Neha Singh Rathore, a self proclaimed “folk singer,” yet seems more entangled in criticizing ONLY NDA GOVERNMENT & chasing political tickets every election season — using songs like “Bihar me ka baa” to grab the limelight.

And when Maithili Thakur responded brilliantly to that song, social media had only one thing to say — “Singing folk songs is an art, but living folk culture is a far greater virtue.

” Maithili didn’t just sing folk music; she embodied it.

And in doing so, she became the true voice of a new Bihar."

From a very young age, Maithili Thakur embraced a life woven with traditions — draping a saree, singing in devotion to Krishna, and painting Madhubani art on the walls of her home. This wasn’t performance; this was identity.

Whether as a folk singer, a loving sister to her two brothers, or a daughter of Mithila — people showered affection on her in every form. And the biggest testament to that love?

Her massive win against the RJD candidate.

Speaking of victory brings us to another name — the Jan Suraaj Party. Did you see their performance?

Grand dreams, loud claims… but the result?

It is said that the Jan Suraaj Party contested 238 seats, won none, and secured only 2–3% of the total vote. Even JDU didn’t contested on these many seats! Irony is that Prashant Kishor blamed his failure on the NDA government’s “10 K Cash” scheme. A classic case of a frustrated cat scratching the pole.

The people of Bihar sent a clear message this time — Only the one who speaks to the heart & about development will win.
And Maithili Thakur did exactly that. With her simplicity, her values, and her cultural depth, she won the heart of Bihar.

🎉 Bravo, Maithili Thakur!

You didn't just win the election — you won our hearts too.

A tribute to the voice of Mithila
